The ORIGINAL terminal ballistic gel block, but for your air gun (10% ballistic gel).

Made from our 10% ballistic gel and with our ground breaking preservative; Extender. This block comes already cast and ready to use - out of the box and shows penetration or damage caused by projectiles, such as air gun pellets, shotgun shot or crossbow bolts to allow the user to compare different ammunition over various ranges.

Size: Air Rifle - 20cm L x 10cmW x 10cm H (7.87′′ L x 3.94′′W x 3.94′′ H)

Shipping: This item is made to order. This means it may take longer to get to you. Please email the team with details if you have a deadline.

Storage: Your Air Rifle Block is packaged in a thermal box and with a cold pack. This is to ensure the gel is not exposed to any high temperatures whilst in transit and to help you keep it cool during storage (if not refrigerated). Your gel has been treated with our preservative (Extender) and will not break down or produce mould as easily if not continually refrigerated or over longer periods of time. If you choose not to keep it in the fridge, please keep it wrapped up (air tight) and in the thermal box. If you do keep your block refrigerated it will last longer (up to 6 weeks).
When you have opened your block (the inner packet) and after usage, you can keep your block fresh by covering it in a cling film type wrap. This will help prolong its life. Our Extended blocks can last up to 100 days in optimum conditions, but we cannot ensure the calibration over this period due to moisture changes. Please keep your block as clean as possible as it will help the shelf life of the gel.

Calibration: Your gel block will come ready to use and in thermal packaging, keeping it cool. If your block is allowed to warm to room temperature it may become softer which will make any projectile penetrate further into the block. This is not a problem and you can simply put the block in the fridge for a short while until it is cold throughout again to calibrate it. The perfect temperature for your block is 3°C, although not required for non-professional use, so it is up to you on how you would like to use this product.

Re-usability: Your gel can be used more than once. Simply cut out any projectile or fragments in the wound track, wash with cold water to remove any dirt or debris from the surface and then rip or cut the block into smaller chunks before placing them into a waterproof container with a lid to heat. Your gel can be heated on a stove, in an oven or even in a microwave (our favourite, quick method).

Heat it slowly (or a few minutes at a time if using a microwave) until all of the gel has melted throughout. You will need to stir the gel from time to time. When it has completely melted it will be ready to pour into a mould (casting). Do not overheat the gel (above 40°C) or it will not be calibrated. If you are not using this for professional purposes then this will not cause any substantial changes or problems if it is heated above 40°C.

Place the gel into a fridge and leave it over night. The block will now be ready to use again.
